Shima Shah-Mohammadi, born in 1983 in Tehran, she is a lecturer at music university in Tehran and teaches Kamancheh and Ghaychak there. She holds a master’s degree in playing Ghaychak and a bachelor’s degree in playing Kamancheh . In 2002, she worked as an editorial assistant of music section for research and science periodical publication of Noghteh. Her articles and writings include: “Angle Genius or child of Devil” and “Music and Modernity”, in research and science periodical publication of Art, book 1 and 2 of “Kamancheh Instructions” and article of “Kurdish dance and it’s music”. As for performance activity, she’s worked with many bands for concerts, recording albums and participating in festivals such as “Simorgh”, “Khorshid”, Mahtab”, “Neyestan”, “Chahargan” string quartet, “Zandoaf”, “Teyfoor”, “Derang”, “Khonyagaran-e-Mehr" and “Orchestra of Iranian national instruments”. Furthermore, Shima has worked with Maestros and artists such as Ahmad Pejman, Farahd Fakhrodini, Hamid Motebasem, Majid Derakhshani, Homayoon Shaharian, Alireza Ghrobani and Mohammad Motamedi. As a soloist she’s played with “Organi-Zal” Orchestra from Ukraine and Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra.
